UM Picks up Second Commit of Night

Tampa Jefferson Quarterback Cade Weldon's dad, Casey, played for Florida State from 1988-92, but the Seminoles are not among the schools who have offered him a scholarship to this point in recruiting.

So instead Weldon is turning toward the man who coached his dad.

Weldon committed to Mark Richt and Miami Monday night on Twitter.

"I loved the atmosphere down there at practice," Weldon said. "Everyone is fired up. Coach Richt is a great coach and an even better man. That relationship with their family played a big role in it. And Miami has a ton of tradition."

Weldon joins N'Kosi Perry as quarterbacks in the growing 2017 class. He is presently the 18th-ranked pro-style passer in the 2017 class and the 65tyh-ranked player in the state of Florida,
